HALLELUJAH: WESTERN CIVILIZATION IS BACK TO NORMAL!

BREATHE EASY CROAKERS COAST-TO-COAST ! All's well and normal again! Paris (Hilton) and Lindsay (Lohan) got more press over the weekend than George Bush, HRH Nancy Pelosi, Iraq, Iran, Syria, No. Korea AND Tom Cruise combined (well, just about)! Now ... Sorry... Sorry... Sorry ... I have seen "too much" of Paris and nauseatingly plenty of Lindsay. And I still don't get it! Do you? How about giving Barns some much needed wisdom here! Barns...

It All Started With...

Puh-lease!!! The only way for these people to stop being in the news is for you to stop reading and caring. Which magazines have the biggest circulation? Which websites get the most hits? Untill everyone starts ordering newsweek and stops going to their favorite celeb fansite these will be the top stories. In a capitalist society its what pays their bills. Now if you don't mind i gotta find Britney/K-fed's extortion sex tape.

Is it even at all shocking that we hear more about Britney and K-fed then we do about the recent election? It is saddening that young adults watch reality TV and read gossip magazines, but fail to learn the importance of our leaders and their decisions. We need to spend more time worrying about our country then people who are really no better then us.

If your gonna start a fight with me you better start with what you have a problem with. Is it that capatilism rules are air waves? Is it that you can't find a news channel in this country that doesn't sensationalize the news with celebrities and what might kill me that is in my house right now --- after these comercials? Do you want to have it out cause the internets main purpose is finding celebrity porn and not finding out what my celebrity governor stands for? Cause darling I am the dark mirror of society and I only show whats really going on. Take your high moral ground and better than thou attitutude and suck a fart out of my arse.

I'd rather not suck a fart out of your arse, surely that is unpleasant. My point is that it is a shame that People magazine and Us Weekly have the biggest circulations because the superstars we are reading about these days are seemingly nothing more than drug/alcohol abusers and anorexics. I am suggesting that parents need to keep their children grounded by installing the idea that yes, these people lead flashy fantasy lifestyles and are fun to read about as an escape, but in the end they are of no importance in comparison to what is happening in the world today, they are in fact just doing their jobs. And for those that use the internet mainly for downloading celebrity porn, hopefully (for their sake) they come across a pop-up with a serious update on the war and recent elections. Maybe that will remind them that every sexually active adult does what Paris Hilton did in her tape and maybe seeing her do it should not quite be at the top of his/her priority list. The popularity of the media may never change, but people’s priorities can. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it mister.

Hold on a sec, need to find my bowl.... OK I'm ready. Earth to MissManning come in MissManing. Your ship has overshot the moon. Parents grounding their kids? They would actually have to be home to do that. And without the television who would babysit the kids? Your living in a dreamworld darlin. Yes, everything you say is nice and pretty and belongs in candyland.
The reason people are obsessed with "stars" is becuase here in the real world most people's lives aren't so good. So we watch our idols and wish we could be them. Who doesn't want to be rich, addored and have plenty of cool gadgets. But what we like to see even more is to watch our idols fall and have them see whats its like to be us again. Thats why they watch B stars on their way down dance. The public eats it up. We are bloodthirsty animals and not only do we like it.... we need it. Hell, the best idea for reality TV would to put public executions on TV. The masses would eat that up and the rating woulld be astounding. Trust me, someone out their is trying to make it happen.
I will give you one thing. You have a million dollar idea with putting the war pop up with porn. It would be awesome to stream porn and watch live coverage of the war at the same time. What guy doesn't want to see 2 women making out while there are people blowing each other up. Fabulous idea.
You want change?? You want to change people's priroities? Then you have to start it. Raise your kids with those priorities in mind. Not the schoolteachers. Not their friends. Not the TV. Not the politicians. Teach them and maybe they will pass it along insted of getting their morality from watching Charlie Sheen help raise his nephew on TV. That or move to Canada. They seem more well adjusted than Americans.

First off, your attitude towards me is a little unsettling. Calling me darling? Me, living in a dream world? I may be younger than you but that certainly does not give you any right to talk down to me. I’m positive that you are confused. You keep asking me what my point is, what i have a problem with, or what I want to see happen. I respond accordingly and then you tell me I’m living in a dream world. Isn’t that the point? I believe the point of this all is to suggest that there are other ways of going about things, such as raising your children differently. I am fully aware of the reason why people are obsessed with superstars, that is besides my point. I do want change, and I do want people’s priorities to change. I am not living in Candyland. I am fully aware of the fact that my wants are very far fetched. But I do believe that we can start with the next generation of children. And believe me when I say that if I ever have children I will be sure to raise them with proper priorities. We will always love reading about celebs., obviously. But if we could just persuade our children to think more worldly then Britney and k-fed’s divorce, now that is a start. I can’t imagine what your next insult will be back to this argument, but bring it.

First off I apologize for the darlin comment. Its a figure of speech comment I picked up in Austin. That and I don't think Sweetie, sugarbear, or snookms really fit the the situation.
I hate going to the actions speak louder that words addage. But it applies. So many people talk the talk, display moral outrage over situations, and then go back to sitting in front of the boob tube and eat their twinkies and do nothing about the situation that they feel soooo empathetic about. When their actions scream apathetic. But if you have children and don't use the TV as the baby sitter, push politics instead of entertainment, then thank you for taking steps to improve this society. But if not I'll wait for Michael to sing "We are the World" one more time and hope to see you with him. This world is so inindated (sp?) with entertainment and distraction so that the major populous misses the real problems. The golden age of America is over But we have "Dancing with the Stars" now so it makes up for it. All I ask of you really is this. "What have you done to make the world a better place today?" or "Has anything I done really made a difference?"
If you can thank you. If you cannot your just talking the talk and I'm standing in more BS.

Let me ask you something. What have YOU done to make the world a better place today? I'm extremely curious. Are you walking the walk, or just talking the talk? All I am reading is well constructed sentences. What do you have a problem with? Certainly you do not have the same concerns I do, so exactly what DO you believe?

What do I Belive? I belive everone lives in bubble. I belive that one person's caring is anothers lip service. I belive that most folks think saving the world just requires a check to the right person. I belive that most people won't do a damn thing unless they see it in their own backyard and even then its probably not worth it.
I come from a family where my cousin works for Jimmy Carter making house. My Aunt was a missionary in Kenya. My friends are those that join the peace core for 2 to 4 years. And compared to them I haven't done a damn thing.
Nowadays I go to shelters to help out on holidays not because I care but out of habbit. In my "I believe" days i went to schools to promote AIDS awareness untill I realized I was only getting to goto schools that already had programs and the ones that needed it i could not get into becuase in their "narrow" minds promoting awareness meant we were advocating sex.
The best you can get out of me now is a rant on same sex marriages but in my world I'm preaching to the converted.
I still try to do some things but I'm tired. I'm tired of fighting something and knowing its futile. Im sick of Politcal Corectness. PC means you can't talk about anything controversial because it might upset someone. Good!!!! Get upset do something. Stop throwing Politics, Sex, Religion, and Race under the carpet.
The new amendments is you have the freedom of speech and if it hurts someone you will be sued.
The only thing out of TV, news, politics, church, and the internet is Fear. We are so innindated with Fear that its no longer scary. We see so much violence that unless its someone we actually know it means nothing.
When Katrina hit I knew people in New Orleans and I still felt nothing.
So thats who I am. I'm the guy who realizes while the whole world thinks were progressing I see us livin in the 50's watching the plague hit Africa and no one doing anything or they will be black listed.

Interesting. A lot of what you said I believe I agree with. I guess I'm confused because you were asking me, not too long ago, what I have done to make change and were preaching to me about how I should raise my children, but it seems as though you have the same outlook I do. The outlook that there are serious issues happening, and it is sad, but doing something about it seems useless. One person cannot make a difference and raise awareness. But the fact of the matter is, no matter how tired you are and how useless your previous attempts proved to be, trying to help in any way (out of habit or otherwise) is still better than sitting on the arse that you wanted me to suck a fart out of.

Your silence is deafening. Looks like I won this round.

Sorry been busy :) Anyways have Imentioned how I like the hat? No really ... Nice hat. Keeps the sun off during my afternoon nap. Got one just like it when I went to Mexico. I thought the idea of argument was to bring people around to my side of thinking. You seem to have done that. You brought me in here. Not the other way around. But if you got something more you want from me just give the word and I will try my best to explain.
