ALEC “LOUT” BALDWIN GOES OFF ON (PRIVATE, NONE-OF-OUR-BUSINESS) MESSAGE TO 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. |
||
But... PARENTS in Ctoads land: YOU have NEVER gone off on YOUR sometimes/often/always messy (“your room is a pigsty”), precocious (insolent), insensitive (“I hate you, mom/dad”), often ingrate (“why can’t you be more like Johnnie’s parents!!”) loving children?
Media fish-bowl residents Baldwin, Basinger and Baldwin Jr. must be a joy at family holidays! Baldwin and Basinger appear to deserve each other! As to Baldwin Jr., who knows? Maybe she is precocious (insolent), insensitive (“I hate you AND mom hates you”), an ingrate (“Wish your were dead”) and youthfully indecent (“Hope I never see you again, you bastard”).
Or Baldwin Sr. is just a lout. And maybe the apple sits squarely under the Baldwin/Basinger tree.
Why is this any of our business? Barns recognizes the relative importance of THIS to the non-Ctoads media. Iraq, Iran, No. Korea, Darfur, Somalia, Al Qaeda, V.T., Nuclear Proliferation, AIDS, 56 other wars raging, babies having babies, education wasteland, political mediocrity etc., etc., etc. are just unpleasant diversions from "important" topics: Baldwin’s latest rant, John Edwards’ hair and Sanjaya’s victory tour!
Topic inspired by "spinner's" lenghty and quality diatribe on this, earlier this morning...
Again, a celebebs showing a dark ugly side. Why do we support this type of behavior. Someone who observes this will say its ok to do this too. It is important in the grand scheme of things because we should expect better behavior from those who influence our lives thru the media entertainment and politics.

A dark, ugly side or a human side? Because they are pretty on the outside, you expect them to be perfect in every way? And who exactly is supporting what? This didn’t happen on the red carpet with cameras flashing. After electing our governor, I was hoping the numbnuts who think something is OK because a "celebrity" did/said it learned something. Expect better from yourself, hope and support better from others.

When people step into the limelight thur entertainment or politics they become very visible and this brings responsibility. Responsibility seems to be lacking these days. We should demand more from our elected officials and demand more from those in the media who splash into our lives everyday. We teach our young by example and that same visibility defines us abroad. Vote with you conscious on election day and with you wallets for offensive behavior.[ don't see the movie, buy the music or wear the clothes endorsed by offensive celebs.

Both Politics and Entertainment bring limelight, but the politician’s job is to serve the people; hence, responsibility to others. The entertainer’s job is to act, sing, dance, write…. What he/she does privately (beat the kids, cross dress) doesn’t negate his/her ability to perform. For the same reason that celebs shouldn’t get preferential treatment (community service for dui), it’s not fair we have higher expectations for them. Although some seem more silicone then flesh, they are humans.
How about demanding more from the elected officials and media? The ones that let them off and the ones that make more money with every scandalous picture and story? Quit buying the magazines (except the Enquirer, it has important stories about alien babies and stuff). Then teach your kids to shun bad behavior not gawk at it. Keep driving instead of slowing down to stare at the crash.

Well Burgemiester we are in aggrement on most things. Politicians and the media should be held to a higher standard. However because the media does deitize and glamourize celebs people do look up to them and idolize them. Because of this people in our society mimic them in order to be "cool" or have lives more exciting and less drab. Celebs have great power over our lives as do those in politics. A great majority of our young know more about Paris Hilton than they do about our government and world events that influence their lives. Hey celebs try acting responsibile!!!

Celebs have power over our lives? Unless Jered Leto comes & asks me to be his slave, I kneel for no one! At least I do my best not to buy into the “cool cuz they said so” ideology and have tried to raise my kids the same. It’s the people with money that “market” what’s cool, and it’s us giving them our money that keeps them going.
So is it Paris’ fault the kids can’t pass there government class? Or could it possibly be…..say, the parents and kids themselves? Its not that I think Celebrities shouldn’t act responsibly; hey everyone! Act responsibly and take responsibility for what you buy into and do. Teach your children to have open minds and to think independently; and while you’re at it, teach them some manners cuz those have taken a downslide lately too.

When you have 5 cars following celebs for just one picture to flash around the world is it any wonder their power is so great. YES responsibility begains at home but media [including slime media], managers and those who should keep a leash on their products behavior should try a little restraint too. Coca Cola and Ge goes out of their way to keep a good image. This bad boy stuff should be rethought.
