Well it was a big event in U.S. history. It is totally not comparable to the complex issues faced by current presidents. The civil war was fought over two issues and as wars go it was limited. Just compare that to every issue faced by current presidents. They are all global.

I disagree with you saying McCain is no Ronald Regan. He's exactly like Ronald Regan in his view that Social Security must go. Great considering he Regan and other politicians have raided it for decades thus bankrupting it and medicare. Both programs have been the money pit or cash cow to raid everytime there was a surplus.
