Well for all you complainers, where were you when the industry was deregulated? I worked for it then. You say free market creates competition. Not when you have behmouths willing to take a loss to kill competition. Now you are getting what you paid for and deserve. I have no sympathy for you. You blamed unions and everyone else. Now you find you are your own worse enemy. GET OVER IT.

Push, push, push! That's what the airlines are doing. They are waiting for the groundswell from irrate passingers to have the gov. take action and perhaps subsidize part the the cost. I agree with Chem. Charge what needs to be charged and let the flying public decide if they will fill the seats.

Leno's idea is brilliant. I'm shocked the airlines haven't gone for it yet. Think about it. Beer ingestion yields constant bathroom use. Further, to digress, all beverages should be free of charge with a steady dollar rate for bathroom use. Then flying will be like a game: "Who can hold their pee the longest." The friendly skies may prove not to be so friendly after all.

Next is monetary tips for the flight attendants - particularly if they actually address you in a friendly, patient manner. They will pool all their tips and share with the airlines. May seem like "pittence", but this could be big - we would all be so ecstatic to be treated like "humans", those tips will quickly add up! Here's another idea - extra $'s for an aisle seat or exit row.

Now. That is riotously funny.
1. I am not nearly as bad looking as Moore.
2. I always look bathed and clean.
3. I am not a phony "documentary" film maker.

Oh Yes. I am traveling again soon. I will bring a large empty water bottle. Perhaps 2. One big plastic and one biiiig sports thermos. Hmmm. Maybe I can interest a network into sending a camera crew as well.

I am thinking of selling baggage transport much like trading carbon credits. Sort of "averaging" bags. If my companion has no checked bag and I have one checked bag, I will demand to pay for ONE HALF A CHECKED BAG.
How much of an argument can I make before getting handcuffed?

Oh no. Much more complicated then that. Deregulation is good. Market economics create regulation and deregulation. What the airlines are doing is reasonable. They have to survive. How they are doing it is so foolish. Compute the fuel cost of all those perks and add to the ticket. You are not going to complain when your ticket cost goes up by $3 or $10 or $30. We don't have constitutional rights to affordable tickets.

The chickens have come home to roost. I worked for an airline before deregulation. Now deregulation has again turned an industry into garbage. Told it would increase competition, instead it has left 4 or 4 large ones. That's a monopoly. And for those who blame the unions and wouldn't back them, Well you get what you pay for and now you are getting it good. Serves those deregulationists right.
