I live under a small rock in a big city and love dancing with the stars....but that's beside the point. If Fox isn't cutting it for ya, just go straight to Al Jazeera, get your info there. Not kidding.

When it comes to the government deciding what information we should or should not have, what laws we should bend, what people should not get due process, I just don't trust any of them with that decision.

The media give the people want they want, not necessarily what they need. Dancing/Idol/Survivor/Biggest Loser are all lightweight viewing and don't require a whole lot of thought - it's pure entertainment (for some). The real world is "heavy/scary/serious" and most of us want a bit of relief. Having said this, I'm not suggesting that we should behave like ostriches! Most of the public knows where to go for the "real" news.

Hot dog!

American Idol story this morning, same outlet, scored a lowly 736 words. Or was that lowly? Yes. It lost (word count) to the story about King Geitner taking over the entire business of Wall Street.

Ouch... That is a 4 Excedrin headache.

If you don't like what you hear on FOX, don't go there. Go to MSNBC. Lucky for us we have free will and live in a country where it is not the government who decides what information we can have access to. Long live Ctoads.

The fairness doctrine is ridiculous. It is akin to the fed. making it law that a retailer must carry Aspirin if they carry Excedrin and must also carry herbal pain remedies. I just don't think that my neighborhood health goods store wants to have any ordinary pharmaceuticals on their shelves. They should not. And FOX should not be compelled to carry anything on their air they don't want to.

That would be an understated reality, Backbiter.
It is also a reality of free market economics.
As to 'uncut0072002' , the fairness doctrine gives Barns a 3 Excedrin headache. What politician or body of "brains" presumes that YOU, Barns, 'BACKBITER' and our respective grandmothers and ballet dance instructors need them to tell us what opinions we must listen to.
And .... Then there is our God give right (and ability) to change the dial!!
Whatever you are watching or listening to on the PUBLIC AIRWAVES need not be accurate nor "right". By law and definition.

Everyone thinks when they hear what they want to hear from someone who they already agree with that it's "Fair and Balanced" conservative or liberal. But what really is the point of hearing the opposing party views on anything? Both sides are "spinning" it. There's no real truth going on. Barns, the media give the people what they want not what they need - free market and all.

If anyone thinks the thousands upon thousands of politicians worldwide, who are trying to fix economy, are going to succeed right away , I`ve got sad news , they`re not . In fact , politicians are losing focus of the economic mess and as if the world economic situation weren`t enough ,
they`re trying to fix the whole world.
It could be more productive to read
"Dancing with the Stars".

Well bear in mind it was under the supposed great Ronald Regan that the "fairness" doctrine was abolished. All at the behest of the the very corporations responsible for reporting. No longer must a balanced view be given by media outlets, but instead the pablum and rantings of those intent on pressing their agenda. Time to bring back the fairness doctrine. At least two sides will be required to be heard. NO FOX BLUSTERING.
