I think even the most grounded people have a desire to see the spoiled and the privileged fall. We are living in a time of narcissism AND no privacy and when we see those with youth, beauty, fame, money, talent, etc., fall on their face…we just can’t get enough. It comforts us to no end to be reminded of their humanity. Because we’re envious privately. Or we thought we were.

You know, I think that even the most grounded people have a desire to see the spoiled and the privileged fall. We are living in an interesting time of narcissism AND no privacy and when we see those with youth, beauty, fame, money, talent, privilege, adoration, etc., fall on their face…we just can’t get enough. It comforts us to no end to be reminded of their humanity. Because we’re envious privately. Or we thought we were. This reminds us that we were only idealizing them and it’s not as great as it seems to be them.

Wow. To be attacked by the vultures. I have more respect for roaches than I do for paparazzi, REGARDLESS of the fact that I admit to being a TMZ addict. (HA) This story makes me ashamed to live in "Studio City."

Yeah...lots of people on death row killed once and didn't make a career out of it. So yeah, is it a deterent? ON your other point..terminally ill people should be able to legally chose death. But what about a teenage girl who's boyfriend broke her heart?? Should suicide be legal for her? Don't we need some laws to protect us from ourselves?

Exactly. And if many people on death row are acquitted as innocent...doesn't it stand to reason that there have been innocent people put to death? The simple law of averages indicates that of course it has happened. And if so, doesn't that mean those juries killed innocent people? Isn't that murder? OR at least man slaughter?
