3,960 U.S. SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE WAR IN IRAQ !
THE GLOBAL GOALS ARE CLEAR. THE STRATEGY OF THE WAR NEEDS TO BE EVALUATED EVERY SINGLE DAY ! The "surge" is fine.
BUT: we appear to have learned little from our Afghanistan war! The murderous, medieval, sub-human Taliban was not IRREVERSIBLY ERADICATED. And now they are back!
Is it time to re-visit Barns’ LOGICAL HOWEVER BRUTAL plan on ending the war in Iraq? It was a bit “tongue ‘n cheek” when first written HERE!
NOT SO MUCH ANYMORE !!!
You all must sound off on this. Remember: the war we are waging against ISLAMO-FASCISM is a global war against an enemy who has no morality, thought processes and history WE CAN RELATE TO IN ANY MANNER OR FORM, WHATSOEVER.
That is a critical element of THE WAR WE ARE GOING TO ACTIVELY PROSECUTE FOR THE DECADES TO COME.

Referring to this as a "War on terrorism" is legitimizing the terrorists. Inferring that they are a legitimate unified sovereign nation. Nothing is legitimate about them except for being legitimate misguided sociopaths at best.

I like the scortched earth military option. We keep hoping that the Iraqi government and people will unite to fight all the criminal and power hungry factions in that country. It it not going to work out. We will continue to give blood there. The rest of the region will see us even weaker than they do now. I am with Barns. We must make a a very big military statement right away!
