GO POUND SAND! MESSAGE TO KING FAHD OF SAUDI ARABIA!

THIS FROM WOULD BE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S., Barns!

If Barns were President, his first calls THE DAY OF INAUGURATION, would be:

1. KING FAHD.
a. "Listen you son of a bitch. You WILL increase oil production by 20% tomorrow. And compel your thieving, blackmailing brethren to do the same. If oil is not below $100.00 by end of month, I will add a 300% export tax to everything you buy from us, starting with wheat.

If you don't like this, drink and drown in your bloody oil, you bastard!"

2. Calls to the CEOs of the 4 largest oil companies in the world: "Listen you greedy mofos. I don't care about your profit motive and your stockholder value when we have millions who cannot afford to drive to work and when we have millions who will go cold this winter! YOU GOT THAT, YOU SONS OF A BITCHES?

Tomorrow, you WILL increase you refining to 96% of capacity. Day after tomorrow, you will begin building 3 new refineries, one in the East, Central and West. A week thereafter, you will begin to invest 25% of your profits in alternate energy sources, with a payoff in 6 years or less. You will do that year after year. You will make a lot more money, you morons!

If gasoline is not at $3.50 in 8 weeks, I WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE LIVING HELL.

Starting with a press conference where I will share our chat with the American public AND urge all your shareholders to sell your stock because you are about to come on some REALLY HARD TIMES ... ON MY ACCOUNT.

Am I making myself abundantly clear, you sons of bitches?

Now ... That would be a GOOD FIRST DAY IN OFFICE for President Barns...

CAN YOU SEE PRESIDENT OBAMA OR PRESIDENT McCain DO THAT?

HELL NO! THAT WOULD BE NEITHER PRESIDENTIAL NOR POLITICALLY CORRECT. And neither Obama nor McCain have the cojones for that.

What a shame for the other 300 Million of us Americans.

What Do You Think?

Would one of you HYPER BRIGHT croakers enlighten us?

Puzzled by the time-line. How can gasoline prices at the pump GO UP essentially parallel with the increase of CRUDE prices? When the time lag between TRADING BARRELS OF CRUDE and refined gasoline at the pump is sooooo long?

OH. YOU MEAN THIS IS PROFITEERING AT ITS UGLIEST???

Somehow, I don't see either the oil companies NOR THEIR STOCKHOLDERS giving anything back OR turning down wonderful profits and stockholder equity.

In other words, WE ARE _________. Barns will forego the profanities...

You are not really asking for an explanantion, are you? As long as we give the oil companies and all other businesses the opportunity to make more and more profits, they will! As long as we just suck it up. When are we all going to scream "I am not going to take it anymore."

        Yo Grizz.

I may have to call you "hawk-eye" from time to time. Well done, pilgrim. Well done.

Just seemed so damned appropriate to make a reference to sand.

Anybody can "piss-off." But given the geographic happenstance, who better to "pound sand?"

Allow yourself the visual of King Fahd, on his knees, watching his oil flow into the ocean, while he is pounding his fists in the sand exclaiming over and over: "Why me?"

And then a few kids in uniform from Kansas and Arkansas and California and New Zealand responding to him: "Don't say we didn't warn you..."

Not funny when gasoline is $5 a gallon and when oil futures are drowning America. How about doing everything we can to make it possible to drown the Saudis in their oil? Or do we have to wait for Israel to do that for us as well?

... or decrease our oil consumption. Problem is that's un-american. I'll bet the average mpg of drivers on this site hovers between 10-20 mpg. If we all bought cars in the 20-30 range, we'd half our consumption overnight. I'm not preaching, just saying.

You give up what you are driving for a compact? If I want to do the same, will you subsidize my new car purchase. What about the truckers, who are now starving.

Don't think I disagree with you. I agree. I just don't see that happening fast enough. It happened for a while after the Arab Oil Embargo in the 70s. After a while, we all went back to gas guzzlers. Nothing will change until market conditions cause change. Maybe Obama has a better idea. For now, it is all McCain's fault.

It definitely will not change until we, or anyone else for that matter, is willing to truly sacrifice. Even Al Gore said it in one of his many speeches. Until the world is ready to make a revolutionary type of shift in consumption patterns, it don't mean @#$%^. Pessimistic maybe, but the truth.

If by a miracle of fate, happenstance and law, Barns would become President, lots of people would become as nervous as a Muslim holy man in a whorehouse.

Sorry for the vapid visual. Just reflecting on 11 deaths in Iraq this month...

Develop alternative fuels (yes, including nuke power), build in mileage incentives into electric cars, add a $1 additional tax to gasoline and put the Saudis - and the other oil dictators out of business.

Hey. If he French can figure out how to dispose of nuclear waste, the U.S. can too. Why don't we just steal their technology. I vote for stealing it and not buying it. When have they ever done anything for us.

Blame our idiotic politicians. We subsidize oil companies, but have not renewed our limited subsidies for wind and solar. We turn food into inefficient corn ethanol, and tax sugar ethanol to protect the corn ethanol - aka Iowa - folks. Disgrace!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Harvard for the most part. We're already seen as bullies in the eyes of most of the world. Though, we do under-utilize how important food is worldwide and we have a lot of it. I like Barns' plan too. OPEC is actually doing us a favor by raising the prices. I don't think we're going back to gas guzzling this time like we did after the 70's shortages.

AND: OIL PRICES WENT UP!

Oh yes! Speculators are alive and well.
