Venezuelan President HUGO CHAVEZ SPENDS ANOTHER $2 BILLION FOR WEAPONS IN RUSSIA! Again ....
WARNING!
This moron is dangerous! Not only has he destroyed his lovely country, he wants to become the next Castro. Except, rather than starving as Castro has been for decades, this bozo has some oil and is buying a lot of weapons.
And, YES. His people are beginning to starve as well.
The moron continues to scream about the impending invasion by the U.S. Why would we ever do that?
The facts are as simple as laughable. Venezuela is DOWN to producing only 2 Million Barrels a day. We buy 1 Million Barrels a day from them. For the funny part: we refine the other 1 Million barrels a day for them AND charge them for the gasoline.
Of course, being who and what we are, we also buy some of that gasoline at retail, once we re-import it.
I propose a different arrangement: find the 1 Million barrels elsewhere. Let the guy drown in his own oil.

There's one major flaw in your proposal BARNS,And that's America's Bottomless appetite for OIL, And the fact that, by your own admission, you cannot produce enough yourself to even come close to filling your own needs.Ergo you need every supplier you can get your hands on

Have you noticed the falling price of crude? Some Americans staid out of their cars for the July 4th holiday weekend. Some Americans are keeping track of how much it costs to fill up. Oil is going down. We are also going to start drilling more offshore. We can get the Venezuelan oil somewhere else.

Yes the price is falling,But only until some body scratches their butt the wrong way in the Middle east.I doubt we'll ever see oil at $100,00 per barrel again And your winter is coming and consumption will soar again Not to mention the fact of the revenue you get from the refining and resale of the petrol

on 07/24 at 07:18AM PTHmmmm. Two things .... FIrst, we have largely ignored him and characterized him a nut. A dangerous nut. Second, we have a much closer relationship with Colombia, the country Chavez focuses on as his most proximate enemy, his imagined jumping-off point for a would be U.S. invasion of Venezuela. Thus, more nut-case stuff.

This plays right into Putin's hands. Russia had been the most imperialistic country in the world for centuries. They are poised to do the same again. The cold war is in their recent memory. Maybe they are still fighting it against the U.S.

As I read this, Venezuela is dependent on the U.S. not the other way around.

Yes Chavez is crazy like a fox. If you want to know why he has reason to fear, not militarily, you should read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by John Perkins and see what your government is doing. They have not only made us paranoid, they have made other countries too. Some of it legitimate.

Hey. I read your profile. What is up with the "your government" thing? Don't you live here too? I know that book. I suppose you think the U.S. is imperialistic, and that the U.S. set up the 9/11 attacks. Why don't you move to Venezuela. Give that a a couple months then you, Danny Glover and Sean Penn can beg your way back to this awful country of ours.
