In an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Joe Biden said wealthier taxpayers would indeed pay more under the proposals of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

“We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people,” Biden said. Of those who would pay more, he said: “It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”

How completely moronic!

Can this idiot dress himself in the morning? Can he go to the bathroom unassisted?

Is he taking ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL LESSONS FROM HUGO CHAVEZ AND IVO MORALES?

Or is he just stealing speeches – AGAIN – from others? This time from Chavez, Morales, Castro and Kennedy?

Senator: do you not think this sounds a lot like re-distribution of wealth?

Perhaps you would like PEOPLE WHOSE MORTGAGES ARE NOT IN DEFAULT TO MOVE OUT OF THEIR HOMES AND HAVE PEOPLE WITH FINANCIAL PROBLEMS MOVE IN?

How about you let those DESPICABLE AMERICANS WHO HAVE THE AUDACITY/GOOD FORTUNE/WORK ETHIC TO MAKE $250,000.00 OR MORE DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR MONEY?

Perhaps you and Senator Obama can lead that parade, Between the two of you, you will earn some $3.5 MILLION THIS YEAR!

    I saw an interview with Warren Buffet who explained that as the richest man in the world (at the time of the interview) he paid less in personal income tax than his secretary. The rich have the resources to avoid paying taxes legally. Realistically, a single person making $30K a year is paying a larger percentage of their salary than the top 1% is paying.

      With due respect to the formerly publicity shy, now publicly ubiquitous Mr. Buffett, whom Barns has/had more than casual respect for, that statement may be accurate for him and accurate when he uttered it. It is absolutely inaccurate to the top 1 or 2 or 5% of income earners in this country.

      Please enlighten us with accurate and relevant statistics once you gather those.

        Don't have an answer unfortunately. What I would like to see is the true percentage of income people pay in taxes each year. Not just income tax, but sales tax, etc. My gut tells me (and it's fairly big) that lower income people pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes. Totally unscientific with nothing to back it up.

    And what's been happening the last 7 years hasn't been redistribution of wealth? The top ten percent holding 90 percent of the wealth? Did they get it through hard work? The oil company executives making hundred of millions through hard work? The heads of Lehman and others walking away with billions while workers lose 401ks and pensions. Now the taxpayer IE middle class to shoulder the bailouts. What justice is there in that?
