JDIMYTAI DAMOUR OF QUEENS, NY, WAS KILLED BY SAVAGE BARGAIN HUNTERS AT THE Wall-Mart in Valley Stream, NY.

He was going to open the doors to the store at 5:00 AM on Friday when savage shoppers stampeded the still closed front door and trampled him to death. Dozens of store employees trying to fight their way out to help Damour were also getting trampled by the crowd. Witnesses said that even as the worker lay on the ground, shoppers streamed into the store, stepping over him.

Shopper Kinberly Cribbs said: "When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling, 'I've been on line since yesterday morning.’ They kept on shopping.”

Barns holds no hope of any of those murderers turning themselves in.

Barns hold little hope that any other “shoppers” – now accessories to murder - will turn anybody else in to police.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO, AS CEO OF WALL-MART ?? Must be something other than the STATEMENT THEY ISSUED AND RE-OPEN THE STORE A COUPLE HOURS LATER !!!!!!

Barns, as CEO of Wall-Mart would absolutely, unequivocally CLOSE THE STORE. Period. The dollars and opinions-storm notwithstanding.

1. We would let that community know that Wall-Mart is known for being a neighborhood store, with prices and services designed for the needs of the community. Barns would let that community know that Wall-Mart does not want to be associated with such conduct by either its customers or its employees. Forgive the imperial "Barns". It would likely be important since Barns expects massive "heat" from everywhere (including my employers) for the actions of my company. Best Barns focus all the anticipated ire on himself, the CEO. Easy enough to fire Barns. But then, Barns likely has a handsome exit package in place.

2. As CEO of Wall-Mart, Barns would challenge that community to prove to Wall-Mart and to themselves, why Wall-Mart should have a store in their neighborhood.

3. As CEO of Wall-Mart, Barns would cause all employees of the Valley Stream store to get a 6 month severance package to help them ease into a new job, unless jobs were available for them elsewhere within Wall-Mart. Barns knows the natural paradox here; we are putting valuable and righteous employees out of work while making a major statement of "right and wrong". The only thing in life that is truly free is grief.

4. Wall-Mart would take care of Mr. Damour’s immediate family’s needs for their lifetime.

5. Pursuant to Barns’ decision, Wall-Mart would erect a memorial on the site of the store, to be there for the balance of the lease Wall-Mart has on that property. Beyond that, let the community bear the embarrassment of having that removed.

That is what Wall-Mart CEO Barns would do.

To allow one's character to be defined in dollars is moral bankruptcy.

Unfortunately, greed is so powerful that it overtakes normal human behavior and respect for human life. Hopefully Walmart will step up for this family. As to closing the store permanently, I disagree. However, I would have certainly closed the store for the weekend in memoriam of this person. Perhaps Walmart management should have implemented stringent crowd control to keep those heartless selfish shoppers from murder.Hopefully some of them have a conscious, although doubtful.

The managers should be held criminally liable for negligent homicide. My wife said she fled the stampede from the Walmart in Airmont (no employees engaged in crowd control). Went to Target in Nanuet where employees in the lot and in the crowd strictly monitored crowd control. No brainer. That poor man. Lets hope Walmart steps up for his family.

I do find it a little disengenious that now one cries and bemoans this tradgedy ,and yes it is one. Yet never really call to task the very mentality of greed that started took hold in the 80's where it truly was get all I can damn who it hurts. How willing are you to give up that mentality while you iine your pockets on the sweat and troubles of others. Hypocrisy stinks

There is blame to go about, all around.

I am unclear as to the hypocrisy comment. Please explain.

Also balance out the blame between the little the company may have done to prevent this tragedy and the MURDER committed by the bargain hunters.
