THE HUGE SUCKING SOUND FROM IRAQ.

The Pentagon is readying U.S. Troops withdrawal from Iraq in 16 months!

WITHDRAWING OUR TROOPS IS A GOOD THING! But ....

1. How do we do that? Our “withdrawing troops” will be at massive risk during the process. Unless we withdraw using the Barns "scorched earth" method:
For several weeks precedent to withdrawal, “if it moves it dies.”
Nothing of value is left behind.

2. What happens in Iraq AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IN THE ENTIRE REGION when our troops leave? How will that effect the U.S.?

Unless, of course, our troops don’t go too far. Perhaps only as far as Afghanistan or Pakistan....

What Say You?

THE HUGE SUCKING SOUND FROM IRAQ.

I agree with XBN, I doubt the the US will pull out completely from Iraq. How ever Iran will soon (If not already)pose the biggest threat to the US along with the rest of us, You can bet Israel is watching. Nukes, Rockets and a little psycho that want rid of the US and Israel,In the hot seat,Now that's a nightmare to beat anything Freddie Kruger can muster

This topic is way over my head - don't think anyone of us can come up with a satisfactory plan. We just have to leave it to America's "leadership" to make the right decisions with no affect on the safety of our country. I'm at a loss for intelligent, unemotional thinking on this topic. Scorching sounds like a good idea, but how logical is that?

I think I have lots of time to think this through. Maybe in a year or so, the government will have a plan of some kind that I can work off of. I also think that we will have 75,000 troops in Afghanistan by then. Maybe Iran will not be as big a problem in a year, after Israel bombs its nuclear installations off the planet.

Iraq is about to become a Minor issue,As Iran with help from (I'm only guessing here) Russia ,Now has the ability to launch a satellite in to space. This and their nuclear ambitions will be giving the Pentagon more than a few sleepless nights and some really bad nightmares!

Bet you will be the one declaring enititlements *so sick of that phase" are the doom of the economy yet no problem with billions for Iraq. Whatever happened to the coalition of the "willing". They didn't ever exist except with payment.

Regarding how withdrawal will affect US, this will translate to a coming up with fast alternative energy solutions to rely less on oil . Interest in region has been created because of dependency on oil .. Long posponed decision to seek less reliance on oil will now proceed in earnest.

I do not believe that the U.S. is going to fully withdraw from Iraq. The U.S. has invested far too many resources into Iraq. The U.S. may withdraw "troops" . However the U.S. is not going to fully withdraw because this the biggest foothold the U.S. has had on a region in the world that always causes the U.S. trouble and I doubt the U.S. will give that up in 16 months.
