AUSCHWITZ NOT YET LIBERATED!

64 years ago today, Auschwitz was liberated. Almost....

Over 1 MILLION people, mostly Jews, were EXTERMINATED in Auschwitz, perhaps the best known of the World War II Nazi Death Camps. Barns personally and intimately knows both survivors AND liberators of Auschwitz, a place that will live in infamy as long as there are humans alive, anywhere in the world.

There will not be philosophical vexing on this on Ctoads today. Not enough space nor hours to express all that Barns feels.

Two thoughts ...

The extermination of 6 Million Jews and 2 Million Christians in the Nazi death camps is a testimony to the perplexing reality that:

“There is no limit to cruelty by people to people.”

Just witness the horrors of recent history: Nazi Germany, Stalin’s murder of 43 million people, Pol Pot’s massacre of half his people, Idi Amin’s massacre of 100% of a large tribe, the massacre of nearly one million Tutsis by Hutus in Rwanda, and regrettably other such atrocities.

Also consider the legacy of Germany who just recently PROMISED, again, to aid Poland in maintaining Auschwitz as a memorial. You see, it is crumbling and quickly turning into rubble and sand. And regrettably, a fading memory.

Barns feels shame for us all. To forget the holocaust is to invite it to happen again. To Jews and non-Jews alike.

And, yes, it has! Stalin, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza and Ferdinand Nahimana of Rwanda and so on .....

What Say You?

AUSCHWITZ NOT YET LIBERATED!

Anti-Semites are everywhere like even my country. Unbelievable in 2009 to say holocaust not real. Germans have laws about that, denying the holocaust is prison offense.

“How many more holocausts will the people on earth universally witness before educated nations believe that mankind is capable of atrocities of this magnitude? How many more innocent children will die before mankind will understand that PEACE is possible . . .and, possible before the end of this decade.” “Germany and Poland, maintain the memorials we have on earth so that future memorials will be unnecessary as PEACE will reign throughout our planet.”

Sounds like a great dream, my unanimous friend. Who are you? Barns wrote that there is no limit of cruelty of people to people. I think it is worth doing the research to find out how many place in the world there are wars going on right now and what are those about.

It is so hard to realize these people died for absolutely nothing. What really upsets me is the people that don't believe that it ever happened. I have read and heard too many horror stories about this. Such an abomination!

      Thanks for your post.

It is amazing, is it not, that there are sooooo many people around the world who deny the holocaust ever happened.

You know ... It is NOT that they do not believe. It is that THEY PREFER to be the ugliest of anti-semites.

And that includes a U.S. Cardinal, who was just admonished by the Vatican for his LOUD beliefs.

No limit of cruelty of people to people.

I have read so much about the auschwitz. A horrible injustice for these people. Another thing that really infuriates me is the people that don't believe that it really happened...

Wow. Heavy, Barns. I want to give you some words of wisdom on this. I will give you some words of wisdom when I can come up with some that are not going to sound either hollow or callous. May God forgive us all.

Bradley, you're right on. Anything said would sound callous and "empty". This atrocity beckons the question is there really a God up there! A resounding - GOD FORGIVE US ALL.

That is a question often posed to the real religious: What kind of God is that who allows such thing to happen? To be sure, your emissary to "everything", Barns has asked that of the appropriate "believers" and many times.

The answer has always been a very unsatisfactory: "God has a plan." Or "It is God's will." Or "God has his reasons."

So there. Here is nothing but hold onto it really well.
