WATER-BOARD THE BASTARDS!

OK. OK. Not literally.

We at Ctoads came up with a good reason to keep Guantanamo open!

First .... Our reading suggests that the “prison” facilities at Guantamano ARE FAR MORE COMFORTABLE THAT ANY FEDERAL PENNITENTIARY IN THE U.S. The exceptions might be the “country club” facilities occasionally the destination of very few of our finest white collar criminals.

Second .... Somebody needs to “DO THE MATH for Barns: Going forward, the Obama doctrine will restrict salaries of top execs. of companies who benefit from the largesse of the Obama “thank you” bailout and stimulus packages to a paltry $500,000.00. Hmmm. What about stock options, deferred compensation and the like, past and future? Those poor folks being required to work for so little after making sooooooo much more money doing the same thing before ...

It is unconscionable what those CEOs did to those companies. Greed is good but in the cases of these bastards, it was also terminal to everybody but themselves!

They cannot hide behind “LOOK AT ALL WE DID FOR THE STOCKHOLDERS!!”

Nonsense! They sucked up likely a TRILLON $$ in stockholder value.

Nonsense! The sucked up likely a TRILLION $$ in taxpayers money!

They don’t deserve a cut in pay.

They deserve GUANTANAMO !

What Say You?

WATER-BOARD THE BASTARDS!

Yes. Those bastards who got rich on making all those toxic loans belong in prison. I am just imagining those top level executives toasting each other with expensive champagne over their huge bonuses with full knowledge that their actions are at least amoral if not just plain criminal. I say strip them from all their wealth and jail them. Water-boarding is not necessary for these cowards.

Good morning over there. You are up really early today mate. I imagine most of you Yanks are thinking the old ode: give them a fair trial and then hang them. Writing this in jest but maybe no so much. Cheers.

I can think of many ways to make these thieves pay for what they did! None of them within the justice system! So water boarding sounds like a good idea.....

I don't care how comfortable a prison is, you need to go through some sort of due process to be there. 6 years and counting without a trial is pretty ridiculous. That being said, I agree with water-boarding the CEO's.

Hve you seen the recent statistics on the prisoners who were let go? 61 of the 300 are actively back doing Al Qaeda's holy killing. The last poor guy who was deprived his rights and let go free is Al Qaeda's number two guy in Yemen, where so many of these fine people are trained. Get real.

There was a time when putting someone in a concentration camp because their ethnicity was Japanese was in the nation interest. Did this help prevent Japanese espionage in WWII? Maybe. Was it right? No. Keeping people in concentration camps indefinitely without a trial doesn't jibe with The Constitution.. Why couldn't those 60 terrorists you mention get convicted?

Someone needs to have the guts to admit that I'm right and that your fear of terrorism outweighs your respect for The Constitution. I can respect position that more than the excuses I'm seeing right now.

This is not fear for the sake of it. This is reality of war. These murderous miscreants were not just grabbed and interned willy nilly. This is a war and it is fought with no convention at all. The people you want to have all the rights you have in the U.S. are focused on just one thing: kill people in the name of their unbelievable beliefs. They don't care who they kill.

What do you suggest the U.S. do with the 250 or so detainees at Guantanamo? Particularly since Pres. Obama wants to close that facility in a year or so. By the way, why is he so focused on closing it?

Put them on trial and convict or acquit. Why is this any different than any other crime?

Hey. Those were military tribunals. That is not what you are advocating. Those animals don't have the same rights as you do. They should be tried in a military court and sentences accordingly. I am not apoplectic over their habeas corpus rights. They can sit in comfort at Guantanamo until the military is good and ready to put them on trial.

The Nazi's had lawyers and a trial within a reasonable amount of time. Are you saying that the Nazi's deserved better than Islamo Terrortists?

Oh man. Not only apples and oranges, not even the same basket. There are 1.4 billion muslims in the world. There may be hundreds of millions openly hostile to the U.S. Nobody knows how many millions are terrorists wanting to kill as many of us. Today, one terrorist is capable of killing millions of people. In 1939, it took 45 million germans to create execute and condone the holocaust.

You have a difficult Hobson's choice, my friend. A question: if you had a detainee with valuable information on when/how part of your city would be blown up, how far would you go to extract that information? Would you be OK with having detained that source for 6 years? How about water-boarded? How about sodium pent. and equivalents? How about pulling off fingernails?

In my country we know about torture with Pinochet. People never find again, killed in prison, no lawful anything. Bad situation. America doesnt want to go there. But. Al Qaeda is bigger problem and more danger than anything else. If they have dirty bombs, we must find out and before they use WMD.
