PRETTY GIRL CARRIE PREJEAN IS GETTING A DRESSING DOWN!

On the truly irrelevant front ....

Miss. California speaks her belief and gets seriously hosed by the all-important minder of all matters of importance in our lives – celeb. blogger PEREZ HILTON. Politically correct AVALANCHE ensues from ALL THE USUAL SUSPECTS.

To be absolutely clear: Barns does not care who you marry! If you can form a functioning, purposeful and respectful union with another human being, all power to you! If “love” is also a component, that is a truly blessed bonus.

Barns sees this bru-ha-ha in two ways:

1. Who the hell cares? We are reading and watching this - because? It sure sells soap, though. Particularly now that we all get to see some lovely pictures of Miss. Prejean.

Of course, none of you fine readers of Ctoads have ever taken any “cool” pictures of yourselves or your mates ......

2. We scream about the sanctity of the First Amendment and freedom of the press. Yet, this “poor girl”, with a splendid and VERY PUBLIC future, speaks her mind and is blasted by the self-aggrandizing P.C. POLICE.

Funny enough, now more than ever, do we not have more important things to worry about than two people who profess their intent to spend their lives together making such union formal?

And ... Would not be Barnsian if not pointed out that no unions in the U.S. have a 50% chance of success. So ... Get the hell out of others’ bedrooms y’all. You have no business being there!

As to Miss. Prejean, YOU GO GIRL.

This post is unrelated to this specific topic. Barns, I want to know why you haven't gushed on about Roger Federer today. He won the French Open yesterday, he's getting many accolades and you are among his most loyal fans. What's up with that Mr. Barns???

      BIIIIIG OUCH ON Barns!

Will you forgive Barns if he confessed to getting teary eyed when The Mighty Federer won the French Open yesterday?

To be in the presence of greatness is one of the rare treats in one's lifetime.

Barns has seen Federer "do his magic" a few times. Just sublime. Barns might add that he was in the best of company on earth when he enjoyed that rarest of pleasures.

There has never been another such astounding hybrid of Baryshnikov grace, pure athleticism and superb sportsmanship in the history of sports.

Long after the the stadium emptied, the press had left and everybody was having a hot cafe o lait (and drying out), Federer went back to the stadium (in driving rain) to give the grounds crew and the ball kinds an opportunity to "hang" and take pictures with him.

      Need I write any more?

Parents ought to teach "Federer" to their children.

The big winner is Trump. Tons of free impressions. He doesn't have to say it, but everyone knows he doesn't really care what the winners say or think, just that they are beautiful and making him money. Why do they even ask these contestants any questions? Who cares what they have to say.

Good morning over on my side of the drink. Indeed "you go girl". Who cares what this young thing believes. As long as she has the brains to express what she believes and we all get out of the way so she can vax about it.

She seems to be relishing the role of the new Anita Bryant. I hate that "Freedom of Speech" comes up in these situations. She was never in danger of being silenced by the government. The Freedom of Speech point is completely moot. Freedom of Speech goes both ways. Whoever disagrees with you or feels like their rights are threatened by your ignorant misguided religious dogma have the right to voice their opinion.

Same as above. I don't understand. Some clarity would help.

She is supporting anti-gay legislation, Prop 8 in CA. Homophobe beauty queen = Anita Bryant. Advocating the denial of Constitutional Rights (outlawing same sex marriage) gives the opposition (non-homophobes) every right to express their concern.

OK. I suppose that makes her a "bitch". At least according to the luminary Perez Hilton. Don't be confused by my post. I could care less who you marry or what your sexual preference is. Humans are all the same unless they are anti-social.

I was one of those who did not stop drinking orange juice. Anita Bryant was most famous for her brassiere than her political views. That is sad but true.

Perhaps Perez Hilton favorite was the runner up. Carrie is an attractive young woman who spoke truthfully about her beliefs. Perhaps she could have articulated it a little better. It's always amazing to me that we in the US always question when someone speaks their mind - do we or don't we have freedom of speech here in the US. I give Trump credit for backing her up and give her more credit.

It doesn't matter that she is wrong or right. She spoke her mind. She is a young woman and her agenda was to come off sounding smart, not stupid as Miss. Universe did recently. This is Miss. America, people. She is not trying for the job of Ambassador to the U.N. or Vatican.

First: She is OVER-QUALIFIED (by comparison) to be U.N. Ambassador.

Barns met Miss. Universe. She is a very nice young woman. She behaves very normally, considering her status. Her comments re. Gitmo were ill advised. Likely just how she phrased those considering the English is not her primary language.
