On the Pope's visit to the land of freedom....
ISLAM RULES! OFF WITH POPE'S HEAD! AND YOURS! NOT JIMMY CARTER'S THOUGH!
ISLAM: VIOLENT? BLASPHEMY: OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!
IRONY: Just a few months ago, German Pope ate Islamo-Fascist bile! Now, Nazi Pope needs more jugend guards.
So: let the Pope sit with the Islamo-Fascists (in Paris) and chat over coffee and petit fors.
Lets watch the Anti-Semite, Anti-Israel, frightfully misguided anti-U.S. "Disaster-President" Carter negotiate with Hamas.
Negotiate!
Best you watch your tongue, you fool, lest you want them to cut it out!
Or just chop off your head.
Welcome to the U.S., Holy Father. Do not fear. We let all manner of misanthropes pontificate here. Even the likes of Carter and Ahmadinejad.
What Do You Think?

Are you posting that this pope has shed his past just because he is now the head cheese at the corrupt Vatican?

Please point me to a religion or religions that are not leeches on their faithful. The Vatican is just one of the biggest.

My good fellow. Everybody needs to belong somewhere. Religion is the club most of us are born into. Does not mean we have to believe in everything they preach, mind you.

Dear lady ,Isn't that the point of religion ?To follow blindly and swallow every word spoken by the preacher ,who stand in his pulpit on Sunday mornings.

That would be the point of religion as it is organized. That does not have to be the point of people who belong. Smart people know what organized religion is all about. You want to get out of it what you will.

on 05/07 at 05:53AM PTOK. Which of you righteous people will tell us that "religion is the opium of the people"?
The systemic corruption of organized religion is doubtless. The Vatican is perhaps the longest lasting corrupt government in the world.
The main rub is the conspicuous dichotomy between the "benevolent" church, with all its purported "help" to the people, and its rapacious effort to strip people of their FREE WILL and MONEY.
Come back to Barns, you all.

I'd say off with his head. His apology came a dollar short and a day late. His business has paid out billions of dollars because of their bastard priests. The church has to stop the celibacy idiocy. It is impossible for normal human beings to live a lifetime without physical intimacy. Ridiculous.

At least this pope, by contrast to Paul II, expressed remorse about the moral decrepitude of the church. Paul felt that a priest was allowed 2 strikes before being punished. That was one of the really black days for the religion. This pope and all other that will follow him, and all Catholics in the world, will have to do a lot of atoning for the sins of the church.

The Vatican and all of organized religion is a rather ugly business. It is more about money and power than ministering to the flock. This pope is not a "holy father." His past is unforgivable. Just rewards, I reckon, that he should feel religious pressure from the radical muslims.

on 11/07 at 03:19PM PTWho. Barns remains preoccupied by the math, here, misguieded friend! 1.1 billion Cathoics make for a juicy target for 1.4 Billion Muslisms. Certainly more so than a paltry 14.6 Million Jews (some of those are well aremed and have finely honed survival skills). The holy father, theee wise teacher and shepherd of those 1.4 billion souls cow-tows to rabbid Ayatollahs? The POPE and apeaser? Holy God!
